A LITTLE GUIDE: 3 Great Spots For a UK Holiday

You needn't board a plane to enjoy a beautiful getaway - there are some stunning spots all over the UK. Not only is it pocket-friendly but you'll be helping to cut down on your carbon footprint. We've got a great spot for everyone.

WHITSTABLE

Once a sleepy fishing port, Whitstable has now become a popular destination for foodies & shoppers with its outstanding seafood and fabulous boutiques. As it doesn't have a sandy beach, unlike Margate just a few stops away, it's relatively adult-centric.

EAT HERE:

There is no shortage of restaurants and shacks serving an abundance of food. Most will say head to Wheelers for its pink frontage and seafood served in exactly the same way since 1856, however the queue can be quite long. If you just want to eat fantastic seafood in a relaxed setting head to the Whitstable Oyster Company, with it's large, airy seating area and enjoy your dinner on sweet red checkered table-cloths.

STAY HERE:

A small town built on fishing, you of course have to stay in a Fishermans Cottage on the water front. Moments away from the beach and short, leisurely walk to all the food you can eat. This gorgeous Airbnb sleeps up to 6 people, is well equipped with quirky and luxury features and sea views from two of the bedrooms.

DO THIS:

Shop the Whitstable Harbour Market, which if you're walking from the station to the sea front is probably one of the first things you'll see. A collection of beach hurts selling premium handicrafts & local arts market with a relaxed vibe in a waterfront location. Plus the last hut sells everything you need to go crabbing on the pier!

THE COTSWOLDS

When it comes to relaxing amongst striking scenery and ambling through tiny villages - mainly for the pubs - you can't beat the Cotswold. Perfect for families, groups & couples.

EAT THIS:

The Cotswolds is all about spending time together, dining in a beautiful cottage and sharing a great meal. From Aldi to Waitrose there's somewhere to buy everything you need. If you want to something a bit special head to 2018 & 2019 Butcher of The Year in The Cotswolds Food & Drink Awards - Waghornes Artisan Butchers. Where they can even provide you with 'meat boxes' to suit the size of your party.

STAY HERE:

If you're looking for somewhere to stay as a group this is this place. Lakes By Yoo is a luxury selection of self-catered rental homes that cater for everyone – offering loads of outdoorsy activities like paddle-boarding and zip wire on it's private grounds. They've got glamorous modern villas or avant-garde cottages nestled amongst the woodland.

DO THIS:

Head to the Venice of the Cotswolds - Bourton-on-the-Water. A picturesque village known for its low bridges and traditional stone buildings, an absolute must see. Head to Motoring Museum, to spot a much-loved children's TV character - Brum!

NEWQUAY

One of Cornwalls most popular destinations, and for good reason, look at that beach. A town known for it's 2 beaches, Fistral & Watergate Bay, where waves from the Atlantic Ocean create strong surf. Perfect for adventurers!

EAT HERE:

Another spot for great seafood, however Newquay has a few lacklustre places, don't get lured in and instead head to The Fish House, this beachside restaurant that has become a firm favourite for local diners and Fistral visitors alike. Great seafood, stunning views and all at a reasonable price.

STAY HERE:

Located above Fistral Beach, this modern circular penthouse apartment offers a spectacular way to enjoy the Cornish coast. 360-degree views of the coastal cliffs and surfers-paradise sea. The stylish apartment also comes with an eight-person hot tub.

DO THIS:

Obviously it's surf! Whether you're a pro or want to learn - everyone can get involved. The Escape Surf School has been teaching people to surf for over 15 years, are open 7 days a week, 12 months of the year. If this really isn't your thing, we can tell you, boogie-boarding is just as fun and, luckily, requires no skill to have fun!
