AMANDIP'S TOP 3 TIPS TO HELP UPLIFT YOUR MOOD.

GET A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP.

Sleep is so important, and yet we often don’t give ourselves the best chance of a good night! I have converted to the do not disturb option on my phone in those vital hours. Although I told myself and everyone else that my phone (next to the bed) didn’t disturb me when on vibrate, I can now say I was wrong.. It does! So get it on silent, or even better move it away all together!

THE POWER OF A STRONG SMELLING SHOWER GEL.

For me, a strong minty smell in the morning gives me that zing to wake me up. For the evenings, I prefer something herbally, helping to take the stresses of the day away.

MINDFULNESS.

A little and often has done wonders for me. Again, this wasn’t an easy adjustment for me, I was too busy to try meditation, it just wouldn’t work for me. However, with some perseverance, I can now say that it has helped me through some very stressful moments. But, like most things in life it only works if you put in the effort, don’t just expect results without the regular practices, even if just a few minutes a day.

AMANDIP'S LITTLE TRAVEL HACK

As someone who is always short on space, I'm still struggling to master the art of packing light. One of my favourite hacks is putting toiletries inside my shoes...Genius! I don't know why I hadn't thought of it sooner, but this little gem has saved me some valuable case space!

    Dear Dr Bahia,

I was wondering whether you are the author of PhD titled Adjustment to limb loss: exploring the role of shame, appearance concern, & fear of negative evaluation in young amputees.

If you are the author, do you have a personal e-mail that you could be contacted on please? I would like to discuss your research, however am unable to obtain a full text article from University of Sheffield Library.

    Kind regards,
    Brian
