The House Guest Podcast

PODCAST

There's no denying it, 2020 will always be the year we explored 'the great indoors' more than ever before. It has sparked lots of DIY, reshuffling and no end of (not always successful) creative projects around the house. We're ready to improve our homes in every way we can after becoming possibly a little too familiar with every single nook and cranny in our space.

In The House Guest podcast, Interiors Editor of Country & Town House Magazine,
Carole Annett, interviews experts from the world of interior design. Get to know the people behind the houses, restaurants and hotels you see in the pages glossy magazines (and, if you're lucky, real life).
The podcast features some of the best known names in the interiors as well as some that might be new to you. If you’re in the middle of your own building project or re-style, we hope you might pick up some pro tips too!

Home For Now

BOOK

With current housing costs as they are, the dream of owning that “forever” home is becoming increasingly elusive. Home For Now by Joanna Thornhill offers creative solutions for feeling at home whether you are renting long term or in a "stop gap" property before moving on.
The book seamlessly blends inspirational imagery and practical advice, for both renters working around a landlord’s restrictions and first-time buyers living in a short term home as they begin their journey up the property ladder. Featuring 15 stunning homes, most of which are rented or first-time-owned themselves, the book is broken down into five chapters: Living Spaces, Kitchens & Dining, Bedrooms & Bathrooms, Creative Workspaces and Plants & Outdoor Living, and is packed with styling, craft and DIY tips to inspire both renters and renovators to try out the ideas themselves.

Full step-by-step projects feature at the end of each chapter, specifically selected with inexperienced DIY’ers in mind. Renters’ needs are more than taken into account, with landlord-friendly adaptations of many DIY and styling ideas offered throughout its pages, ensuring anyone can easily follow the advice and transform their temporary abode into a happy home.
