Stix Mindfulness is proving that tech can have a positive impact on kids’ mental well-being. Through a pair of interactive Stix remotes, children can experience engaging and therapeutic mindfulness activities, from balance work and deep breathing to storytelling and guided meditations.
The innovative brand was born out of the dream to support children’s mental health and encourage play, without the necessity of a screen (the Stix app is optional). This game-changing technology utilises play and learning to guide kids to better understand themselves, their feelings and the world around them. It’s simple, yet somehow radical – most of all, the founders wanted the tool to be fun.

Discovering Stix Mindfulness
A LITTLE FIND’s founder discovered Stix Mindfulness while reading The Week Junior, and was immediately blown away by the brand’s ethos and innovative ideas – it’s really like nothing else on the market. Today, A LITTLE FIND is currently the only retailer to stock this innovative product.
In an interview with Stix Mindfulness founder Liam Murphy, A LITTLE FIND dives into the motivations behind starting the brand and the founder’s own story of discovering mindfulness while preparing for stressful exams. The initial idea came to Murphy at university and has been growing ever since, undergoing rigorous testing to make it market-ready. The main aim of the technology is to help children understand themselves and their feelings better, and hopefully, provide a tool for coping with mental challenges throughout their lives. Murphy was also keen to point out that the app isn’t an essential part of using the tool, it also encourages offline mindfulness practices and parents have full control of app use.
Stix Mindfulness Remotes
Stix Mindfulness remotes are interactive activity sticks that teach children mental well-being techniques that will stay with them for life. The best bit? They’re based on audio cues so there’s no screen involved. The children’s mindfulness brand has curated activities and games to foster imagination and mind-body connection, as well as teach self-calming techniques involving balancing, deep breathing and guided meditations. The child holds the remotes, listens to the guide and takes a screen-free, wholesome journey.
All the activities were created by psychologists and leading mindfulness experts, guided by research to ensure children want to engage and play. Voice, haptics and lights on the ergonomically designed remotes help kids immerse themselves in the activity at hand. Youngsters can enjoy tracking their progress on the accompanying app – on your phone for total oversight – winning badges and stars to encourage them. They also develop their own personal companion, The Mindful Monster who accompanies their journey.
