JACKIE ASHLEY
Thinking about ways to energize your home? Jackie Ashley's your girl.
Her environmentally-minded scent company has formulated a luscious range of timeless fragrances designed to, "set the scene, uplift, and make the simple things and moments of ritual memorable."
Describe Ashley & Co in one sentence?
A modern-day scent company with a timeless range of products perfect for any occasion that can effortlessly weave into one's day.
When and how did you begin?
It’s hard to believe, but we’ve been operating for 15 years. Ashley & Co began and stemmed from a love of scent and interiors, and motivation for your home to be both calming and uplifting.
How are you different from other brands in the same category?
We love to tell a story, and for each of our scents to have their own personality. We have quite a large breadth of products from Home Perfume, Waxed Perfume through to body and hair care, all focused on scent. Our scents are complex yet approachable.
What is your proudest moment as a business
First day at Maison Objet in Paris last January. It had been 14 years in the making.
What steps have you taken to make your consumer behaviour more sustainable?
As a brand we are aware that sustainability and footprint is a constant moving target. We aim to be agile and are always reviewing and evolving. For a number of years now we have offered refill pouches for our Wash Up and Home Keeping products, and more recently we have introduced Home Perfume refills. We aim for all our PET bottles to be 100% recycled material by 2021. A big piece is in the education of our customers and the way we communicate our changes with them.
What product do you wish you’d invented?
Cream-based natural makeup in a nifty 4- 5 shade travel compact. Perfect as a concealer or to highlight, and on lips, cheeks and eyes. So practical!
What’s your biggest extravagance?
Overseas holidays with the family, but as these are not on the radar anytime soon, we aim to make more improvements to our home. Home is truly where the heart is!
What’s your best life or beauty hack?
Tinted lip balm that you can use as a cheek tint too - I love a multipurpose product that you can use when out and about.
What is your best ‘little find’?
A canvas painting by a New Zealand artist and poet which I bought at an Auction House in an estate and general household goods sale. It’s a treasure in my eyes!
Which three items would you never travel without?
Hand sanitiser, hand cream and lip balm
What time do you wake up and what’s the first thing you do?
6ish on weekdays - if I don’t have a fitness class on, priority is definitely a cup of tea!
