Charities We Support

The Childhood Trust is London’s child poverty charity, dedicated to alleviating the impact of poverty on children and young people living in the capital. Children growing up in poverty face multiple and complex challenges, which can limit their development and degrade their potential. London has the highest rate of child poverty in England. The Childhood Trust’s work is focused on supporting the 800,000 plus children living in poverty in the capital.

Since our inception in 2013, we have raised over £25 million through our matched fundraising campaigns enabling us to fund the delivery of 709 child poverty projects across London, engaging more than 390,000 children to date.  Our funding ensures that local grassroots organisations can successfully engage London’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children in a wide range of support services, such as counselling and mental health support, food provision, sports training, arts and cultural activities, and special educational needs support.

A LITTLE FIND is now a proud member of 1% for the Planet, a global network of businesses, nonprofits and individuals working together for a healthy planet. Along with this alliance of other businesses that understand the necessity of protecting the environment, we’re committed to giving 1% of our annual sales to fund eco-friendly, earth-conscious causes and organisations around the globe.

1% for the Planet connects dollars with doers by linking businesses, individuals, and nonprofits to help create partnerships that protect the planet. They collaborate with individual and business members to identify environmental organisations that will make the greatest impact and align with a company’s giving goals. They certify that every dollar contributed goes to a vetted, trusted nonprofit. 1% for the Planet members have given tens of millions of dollars to the environment, and their nonprofit partners are doing the hard work of restoring our planet for the future. Their goal is to not only direct giving toward environmental causes but to increase the overall amount of global dollars going to help protect the planet.

1% for the Planet was started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard (founder of Patagonia) and Craig Mathews (founder of Blue Ribbon Flies). Both successful entrepreneurs, they recognised the power of collective action to protect the environment. Today, businesses and individuals continue to make the 1% for the Planet commitment, creating greater impact every year.

At A LITTLE FIND, we agree with the organisation’s own website, “There are a lot of options for businesses and individuals when it comes to giving to the environment. What sets 1% for the Planet apart is our ability to fuel greater collective impact through our proven network approach.”

We’re thrilled to be a part of this incredible organisation. We hope you’re thrilled that out of every dollar you spend with A LITTLE FIND, 1% goes straight back to making this world a better place to live.

We invite you to visit 1% for the Planet and discover how you, too, can get involved now. Together, we can make a difference.

HYGIENE BANKS

At A LITTLE FIND we believe that everyone should have the right to basic personal care products that's why we donate any personal care products we can to hygiene banks.

SHELTER FROM THE STORM

As a part of our Christmas campaign in 2019, we decided to support Shelter From The Storm, a charity that provides a completely free emergency night shelter providing a bed, dinner and breakfast for 38 homeless people every night of the year. We donated £5 from the sale of every Christmas box we sold.

CRISIS

We supported Crisis, the national charity for homeless people, using the sales from our 2020 Green Friday campaign. We donated 10% of our sales from Friday 27th November 2020 to Crisis to show our support for their mission to end homelessness in the UK.

Crisis work directly with thousands of homeless people every year. They provide vital help so that people can rebuild their lives and are supported out of homelessness for good. Crisis offer one to one support, advice and courses for homeless people in 12 areas across England, Scotland and Wales. Together with homeless people and Crisis supporters, the Crisis team campaign for the changes needed to end homelessness for good.
