Behind the scenes with celebrity aesthetician dedicated to women's health

Founder Joanna Vargas is dedicated to women’s health & well-being. What’s beautiful to Joanna is when a woman feels good about herself, and feels absolutely amazing, and comfortable in her own skin. Inspired by nature and epigenetics, we empower an individual's own processes and functionality to create beautiful skin inside and out.

Joanna's medical background combined with her skilful techniques, artistry and constant search for the best clean ingredients, create profound and lasting results.

Tell us about your brand and how you came about?

"Working as an aesthetician for years before launching my line helped me, more than anything, realise what real women and men needed to get good skin everyday. I know that everyone can get that “red carpet glow” by following simple routines using products with good ingredients, and by altering lifestyle factors that were negatively affecting their skin.

I wanted to make products that worked for all skin types, and that did double-duty work, as most people don’t have time for a 12 step ritual every day. I also saw how beauty trends were affecting people’s skin, like lasering, and made products that addressed the effects of these treatments."

What’s your biggest challenge as a brand?

"Meeting demands as we grow, especially internationally!"

Tell us your favourite quote, mantra or best piece of advice

"Always follow your instincts, or your “gut.” It is always right, even if you don’t understand why in the moment. And of course, never go to sleep without washing your face!"

Tell us your proudest moment as a business

"I love celebrating even the little successes, but I would have to say my proudest moment would be when we won the Allure “Best of Beauty Award” last year for the Rescue Serum. It was really that “we’ve arrived” moment!"

What do you wish you'd invented?

"The Microcurrent machine – it’s an incredible invention we use in our spa facials to instantly tighten muscles under the skin for a surgery-free lifted look."

What is your favourite discovery from THE FIND?

"During bath time, my exfoliating mask while wearing Shhhowercap and the Malin & Goetz Neroli candle."

What three things could you not live without?

My son, my daughter, and my Apple Watch.

What’s your biggest extravagance?

I’m still getting used to upgrading my seats on flights – I fly at least 2 times per month… but a little extra leg room goes a long way now!

What’s your best life or beauty hack?

Lymphatic Drainage massage. It’s so easy to do on your face, at home by yourself, and it really does help you look less puffy and more glowing every day.

Which three items do you never travel without?

Two sheet masks and a book. One sheet mask is for me, for the plane, to prevent the extreme dryness that happens from being 35,000 feet in the air. The second is for a flight attendant… the mask look is an attention-getter and I like to share the love!

Now, let’s have a little fun and FIND out about you...

  • Wellies or Flip-Flops: I live in NYC – Wellies are essential
  • Bubble Bath or Hot Shower: Bubble Bath when I have time – and I pair it with a sheet mask for extra indulgence.
  • Spring Summer Autumn or Winter: Tough choice here but probably Autumn
  • Cinema or Theatre: Cinema when there’s time!
  • Paperback or Kindle: Paperback
  • Yoga or Run: Yoga (but boxing, preferably)
  • Pressed Juice or Cocktail: Pressed juice – so much better for your skin!
  • Serums or Oils: Both, every day ;)
